Computing gives children the opportunity to develop their understanding of technology, learn how digital systems work and use technology creatively, safely and responsibly.

Using the Purple Mash Computing curriculum, children develop their knowledge and skills across computer science, information technology and digital literacy. They learn how to create, organise and present information, use technology to solve problems and understand how digital systems can support learning and communication.

Children explore programming, algorithms, data, multimedia, digital creativity and online safety. They learn to think logically, break problems into smaller steps, test their ideas and make improvements. Through practical activities and purposeful projects, children develop the confidence to use a range of digital tools and technologies.

Online safety is an important part of our Computing curriculum. Children learn how to use technology responsibly, protect their personal information, recognise potential risks and make positive choices when communicating and working online.

Our school values are woven throughout our Computing curriculum:

Most importantly, we want our children to leave primary school with the confidence, creativity and critical-thinking skills to use technology safely, responsibly and effectively. We want them to be curious digital learners who can solve problems, express themselves and make a positive contribution in an increasingly digital world.
