COMPUTING AT LARKFIELD

At Larkfield, we want pupils to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever-changing digital world. Technology is everywhere and it will play a pivotal part in pupils' lives. Therefore, we want to model and educate our pupils on how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely.

Our computing curriculum focuses on a progression of skills in digital literacy, computer science, information technology and online safety to ensure that children become competent in safely using, as well as understanding technology. These strands are revisited repeatedly through a range of themes from Year 1 – Year 6 to ensure that learning is embedded and that skills are successfully developed.

Our intention is that computing also supports children’s creativity and cross-curricular learning to engage children and enrich their experiences in school. We are passionate about our computing curriculum being a vehicle for children’s empowerment through enhanced opportunities, and we intend to provide all our children with a broad, exciting and ambitious curriculum that will develop their knowledge and cultural capital so that they are able to succeed in life.
