Learn with passion, lead with kindness, grow with resilience

At our school, we believe that every child is an artist. Our Art & Design curriculum provides children with opportunities to explore, experiment, create and express themselves while developing the skills, knowledge and confidence to become creative thinkers.

Following the Maestro Cornerstones Curriculum, children experience a rich and progressive programme of learning. They explore a wide range of materials, techniques and processes, including drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, textiles, collage and mixed media.

Children learn about a diverse range of artists, designers and craftspeople, exploring how art can communicate ideas, emotions, cultures and experiences. They are encouraged to develop their own ideas, make creative choices and take inspiration from the world around them.

Our children use sketchbooks to experiment, practise skills, record ideas and reflect on their learning. We value the creative journey as much as the finished piece and encourage children to take risks, learn from mistakes and develop resilience.

Through Art & Design, we aim to nurture children who are curious, imaginative, confident and creative, giving every child the opportunity to find their own artistic voice.
