We are receiving daily guidance updates from the DfE in relation to coronavirus, which we will follow.
At this stage, the advice is that good, regular handwashing is the most effective thing we can do in school and we have been reinforcing that message with the children. Sefton cleaning service has adopted a slightly different cleaning regime, which pays special attention to key surfaces such as door handles and table tops.
School will remain open and activities will carry on as normal unless we are told otherwise or in the unlikely event that we don't have sufficient staff to run safely.
If your child develops either:
A new, continuous cough and /or
A high temperature [37.8 degrees and above]
you should self-isolate for a period of 7 days and notify school in the usual way.
This is quite a scary time for children exposed to lots of hype and rumour. You can support them by taking some time to discuss coronavirus with them and reassure them. BBC Newsround is a good place to get information at their level, which you can discuss together,
We will provide updates as necessary. No update means the advice remains the same.
PS Please provide us with updated phone / contact details if these have changed recently.
