Reception Autumn 2 Week 2
Date: 13th Nov 2020 @ 6:35am
What a nice last day to our busy week! Everyone looked great wearing their own clothes to raise money for Children in Need. We started the day with a Pudsey story and coloured pictures of him, also attempting to copy his name from a name card. This is a big focus in the classroom, encouraging the children to copy from their name card if they are unable to write all the letters in their name. Please practise this at home too. In phonics, we built simple words containing the letters d,e,f,v and will continue with this unit next week. Encourage your child to say the sounds in simple words such as mat , pot , cap, sit, to see how they are getting on. There have been lots of fun games in maths to develop number recognition and 1 to 1 correspondence. Outside we have been menaced by some fiercesome pirates, hunting for treasure and stealing food.
Our literacy focus for the next two weeks is 'The Gingerbread Man', so please read it over the weekend if you have this story.
Have a lovely weekend and see you Monday.
