Reception Autumn 1 Week 6
Date: 15th Oct 2020 @ 9:31am
We hope the children enjoyed their current buns. It was a great activity for the children to follow step by step picture instructions. They talked about weighing the ingredients and baking provides a good language opportunity, as only a few children knew the vocabulary ‘yolk’. A few were close, I had a chuckle when someone shouted ‘yoga’! The children thoroughly enjoyed it and patiently waited for their turn in the process. Super fun in PE again, a favourite is the warm up game, “Sit Down, Stand Up”. The children listened carefully and followed the instructions the play the ‘Beans’ game & a variation of ‘Head Shoulders Knees and Toes’, trying to balance a quoit on those body parts. In maths, we have focused on finger patterns to represent a number, recognising numbers to 10 and identifying the next number in a sequence. Phonics and handwriting is coming along nicely. Please check if your child can recognise the letters, s,a,t,i,m,n,o,p, as these are the letters we have covered so far. Next week we are moving onto Unit 3 ( please refer to the Sounds Write parent letter sent out) which introduces b,c,g,h.
Reminder for next week, please bring in just one vegetable.
Looking forward to our last fun and busy week of the half term RFM! Enjoy your weekend.
