Reception Autumn 1 Week 4
Date: 1st Oct 2020 @ 10:27pm
This week the children added more detail to their pictures of Incey Wincey, using different media to create new effects. The glitter really stands out and effectively creates the rain and water. It has really brightened up our classroom wall. Everybody gets busy as soon as they enter school in the morning. The first task of the day is to choose a maths activity. The children develop their early number and counting skills through a variety of games and jigsaws. During the teacher focus activity the children enjoyed a small group story, listening carefully and talking about the story and illustrations. They enjoyed predicting what might happen to Kipper in the story. There was impressive focus in phonics and everybody had a good attempt at reading and writing simple words containing a,i,t,s,m. Next week we will introduce three more letters- n, o, p. The class had some excellent discussions about Autumn. When looking at photographs, they would draw on their own experiences, telling the class about what they have found in the garden/ park and the noisy geese flying past their house!
Thank you RFM for working hard this week. See you on Monday.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION- your child should have in their book bag a Home Learning card and School Jam letter. Please keep this safe as you will need these log-ins if there was any future school closure. Hopefully that won't happen, but I am sending it home because it has the information you need for Letterjoin, so that you are familiar with the way we teach handwriting and can support your child's handwriting development at home. Secondly, please download School Jam which has some lovely, short maths activities/ games. A different activity or game will be released each week. School Jam works well on a phone too. Any problems or queries and you can catch me at the end of the school day or email via the school admin email. Thank you, Miss Felmingham
