R/1F Autumn 2 Week 1
Date: 6th Nov 2020 @ 3:45pm
Welcome back! What a busy first week it has been in R/1F. We have been learning all about Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes and the children have created some fantastic rockets and firework pastel drawings.
In Reception maths, we have focused on finger patterns to represent a number, recognising numbers to 10 and identifying the next number in a sequence. In Year 1 maths we have started addition with numbers to 10. A huge well done to those of you who have completed the Pearson Maths activity on school Jam, a new one will be getting sent to you this weekend.
I would also like to direct you to the letterjoin website because there is a great letter lotto game which is brilliant for the children's letter recognition and letter formation (Log in details are on the Home Learning card sent home a couple of weeks ago).
As the weather is starting to get colder, can I please ask that you encourage your child to be as independent as possible when zipping up their coats and putting on their gloves so that they are able to do it in school.
Lastly, on Thursday we thoroughly enjoyed our 'Outdoor Classroom Day' where we took all of our learning outside for the day. We built a campfire and toasted marshmallows, made hot chocolate and sang campfire songs. We did a science experiment with diet coke and mentos and the children made some fabulous predictions about what they thought might happen. We did a phonics scavanger hunt and even had our storytime outside. I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
Have a lovely weekend R/1F, see you on Monday.
