1/2M Autumn 2 Week 3

Date: 21st Nov 2020 @ 9:25pm

Well, what a week that was!

We had drama in the classroom on Monday lunchtime when a bear came and made a real mess of our maths area.  We called the police for advice and were told to stay in, make some posters to warn everyone and find out information about bears to help the police out.  On Tuesday, the police asked us to find out what a bear's food chain was as they had a plan to trap it so we learnt all about food chains and discovered that bears are predators who will eat anything, even insects!  We decided to make a bug hotel and so we researched what different insects would want in their homes and spent Thursday afternoon creating it.  We must have done a really great job because after the children had gone home on Thursday, the bear came back and was found by the police right next to our bug hotel!  He's on his way back to North America now where he will hopefully be able to find his family.

Next week, we are going to be looking at different houses around the world and will continue learning about addition and subtraction in maths.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Mrs McQuiston, Mrs Hoskin, Mrs Peart and the bear!
