2G Autumn 2 Weeks 1 - 5

Date: 4th Dec 2020 @ 9:06am

What a busy term we have had so far!

Week 1: We learnt all about Guy Fawkes, The Houses of Parliament and Remembrance Sunday. The children also enjoyed Outdoor Classroom day and loved eating s’mores around the campfire!

Week 2: The children continued to learn about animals and their habitats and read more of the class book 'The Last Wolf'. They also learnt about endangered animals. As always, the children were very sensible during the two-minute silence for Remembrance Day.

Week 3: Mr Sutch completes the 'Daily Mile' with the children every Monday - Wednesday - they love it! This week the children made an amazing 3-D city using shapes and programmed a Beebot to travel around it. Well done 2G!

Week 4: We had a mini theme about houses around the world. The children loved reading about them, created excellent information writing, built different structures and made 3D houses from a cube net. We also designed and built a bug house! The children were amazing organising themselves and their equipment. We talked about managing risk and not one plaster was needed! Another well done 2G!

Week 5: We have continued with our theme about houses from around the world. The children have also explored our class text The Last Wolf and have continued to impress me with their maths work (addition and subtraction). We also had a lovely visit to Emmanuel Church as part of our RE curriculum. The children learnt a lot and recorded their Christmas song - more information to follow!
