Reception Autumn 1 Week 3
Date: 25th Sep 2020 @ 1:48pm
Wow, another week has flown by! The children have worked really hard and are certainly ready for the weekend. We continued to sing and learn nursery rhymes, plus we painted pictures of Incey Wincey, carefully counting the right number of legs. We have been learning to play dominoes and enjoyed playing other dice games to develop instant recognition of regular spot patterns to 6. During the teacher focus activity the children drew a picture of themselves and wrote their name for their work book. They all look fantastic! In phonics, we are beginning to read simple two/ three letter words containing the letters a,i,t,s,m. They will continue to practise this next week and also attempt to write words made up of these five letters. In preparation for this, the children have persevered and shown an ‘I can’ attitude during handwriting. Our school follows the Letter-join scheme. You will receive more information about this next week, but please look at the photographs to view an example of the pre-cursive writing style we have shown them so far. We have also enjoyed reading seasonal stories and talking about the changes happening during Autumn. When out and about please collect Autumn objects and bring them into school for our interest table.
Have a fun weekend and see you on Monday.
P.s. All children will bring home a reading book and a reading record/ diary on Monday. This will be an authentic book for you to read aloud to them. We will collect this book in on Friday of the same week. Thank you.
