Our curriculum is organised by age range as follows: Foundation stage [reception] Key stage 1 [Y1&2] Lower Key stage 2 [Y3&4] and Upper Key stage 2 [Y5&6]. We teach the National Curriculum [and beyond] through central topics in each age group. Our topic curriculum is planned on a two-year cycle so that children do not repeat the same topic. English skills are taught discretely and also through the topic whilst maths is usually delivered as a discrete subject. Phonics at Foundation stage and Key stage 1 is taught in ability groups using a synthetic phonics programme 'Sounds-Write'. At Key stage 2, phonics is one of a range of strategies for developing spelling and decoding skills. Follow the links below for details of the areas covered within each theme. Should you have any further queries about our curriculum, please contact your child's class teacher or Mr. Palmen, who is our Curriculum Manager.

We use 'White Rose' schemes of learning to deliver the Maths National Curriculum. An indicative overview for each year group is available to download form this page but please note that class teachers may amend the order and pace of lessons to meet the needs of their children.
